LIVING AND WORKING FROM HOME

The only thing my client knew she wanted was to change her bedroom to a working studio and her living room into a living room | bedroom.

As she already had several crates - I just needed a few more and purchased some shelving to house her products. I always try to be as sustainable as possible and use what is available - saving the environment and the pocket book.

She had to edit a lot of clothing, shoes, etc. We switched closets to make room and added baskets under a super sturdy piece she wanted to keep.

Voila! She is now super organized and can LIVE AND WORK from home with ease.

Living so close to the water we went with a beach house vibe. Whites and natural fabrics helped to expose the gorgeous wainscotting in this tutor home

There was a lot to let go of - lots and lots of decluttering and organizing.

With limited space, there simply was not room for a bookcase - so I added to the existing crown moulding to make shelving to house her impressive book collection. 📚

It was obvious her music was key in her life but she had no easy access to it.

We repotted a 15 year old Jasmine plant with a cream finish and found the perfect antique plant stand.

Essential purchases: A natural wool carpet, cotton pillows and bedding.

We cleaned and painted the non-working fireplace and added candles to add a fire element 🕯 to the room and placed her fathers sculptures in front of the mantle.

Inviting all elements in a room creates balance and a sense of calm.

I redesigned an existing cot that had a solid foundation and drawers under to hold linens. Space was limited. (I don’t generally advise anyone to sleep with items under their bed.)

Her electric bicycle is easily accessible to bring outdoors and more shelving is available for her books.

This is how my client was feeling BEFORE she reached out for help.

I felt like there was no room for me. Burdened and tired. Like I had to carry it all. Work was all that was left for me. ...Heavy and a kind of hopelessness. I was dreaming of lightness and open space but unsure how to get there. I felt poor in possibilities. ....

AFTER....I had the exciting experience of having ChaCha re-design my living space. I started with a feeling and a few ideas, but she quickly determined my needs, and beyond that, seemed to understand what I needed to flourish. Much of that was letting go of the past and allowing flow and air into my life. Since I do a lot of work from home, she helped me separate my living and work spaces. Her ideas repurposed much of what I already had. I am delighted with the results. I feel beauty around me and space for possibility and growth.

ChaCha deeply listens and has a sincere intention to open and create spaces where you can live all parts of you. Her knowledge of space, design, light, colours and balance are transformative. She is an innovative, out-of-the-box thinker and some of her solutions were absolutely genius.

It is a journey of transformation - I was not comfortable in my old way of being, and now I am expanding into my new environment. She was a gentle guide in this process, appreciating my emotional connection to things and to the past and allowing me the space to change. Under her guidance, I took the time to do the work of sifting and sorting my world. It is a process that I will continue - now that I have seen the light! Very grateful I went on this journey with ChaCha.

We removed an old kitchen table. It was heavy and took up the whole entire space. Now it is light and energy can easily flow, but most importantly she feels spacious and excited to sit with her morning coffee. ☕️

It doesn’t take much to accessorize and less is always best.
