This Catrina celebrates her by bringing attention to every unnecessary item used and left behind, causing harm to her and ourselves.
Celebrate life by caring for our ocean and placing trash where it belongs.
With this project I hope to bring awareness to people everywhere.

Los OCEANOS son parte de nosotros – parte integral de la vida y la comunidad.
El sketch de la escultura (la escultura real será revelada el día 1ero de Noviembre) – una Catrina celebra atrayendo la atención de de cada artículo utilizado y desechado, causando daño a la vida y a nosotros.
Celebrar la vida cuidando nuestros océanos y tirando la basura donde pertenece.
Con este proyecto, se espera crear conciencia en todas las personas en diferentes lugares.

1 de Noviembre @12 – 3 pm ven a ver a los niños de Amigos de La Cruz y conoce a la Calaka Flaca en playa La Cruz a un lado del beachclub de Delta. Estará ahí hasta el 3 de Noviembre.
WHEN I GET A VISION I ACT ON IT….
I stayed in La Cruz the summer of 2022. Out for a walk one day I saw the amount of plastic in the river bed. It was alarming to hear the rains would come and I imagined it would end up in the ocean. And it did.
This project was born out of a need to bring awareness - to help our oceans, to create a healthy future for our children and to make La Cruz a clean and eco friendly town in the Bay of Banderas, Mexico.
It is not the first time this town has tried but we must try again.

With the guidance of Alejandra, the children of Amigos De la Cruz Kids Club helped make this project possible.

CUANDO TENGO UNA VISIÓN, ACTUO
Estuve en La Cruz el verano del año 2022. Un día mientras caminaba cerca del rio me llamó la atención la cantidad de plástico que había. Fue alarmante escuchar que llegarían las lluvias y toda esa basura acabaría en los océanos. Y así fue.
Este proyecto ha sido creado para traer conciencia - para escuchar a nuestros océanos, crear un futuro saludable para nuestros hijos y hacer de La Cruz un lugar ecológico en Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit.
ACTUA LOCAL. PIENSA GLOBAL.
Con la ayuda y guía de Alejandra, los niños del Club de Amigos de La Cruz me ayudaron a hacer este proyecto posible.

SIMPLE CHANGES YOU CAN MAKE:
Support business’ that support this cause - see below.
Rule out single use plastic as best as you can.
Take your laundry in a basket or cloth bag and say no to the plastic.
Wash your floors with vinagre - harsh chemicals kill fish eggs and harms the oceans.
Pick up trash and put it in designated areas.
Simply stop buying things made of plastic.
Stop buying plastic toys for children. Make it a family rule.
Start with what is right in front of you. It will have a domino effect.
Remember the children are watching us. Teach them well.

SENCILLOS CAMBIOS QUE PUEDES HACER:
Apoyar negocios que apoyen este proyecto, ver abajo.
Dejar de usar plásticos de un solo uso.
Llevar tu lavandería en bolsa de tela o una cubeta, no usar plástico.
Lavar pisos con vinagre – químicos fuertes matan huevos de pescado y dañan los océanos.
Levanta basura y ponla en lugares asignados.
Simplemente deja de comprar cosas que tengan plástico.
Deja de comprar juguetes de plástico para niños. Hazlo una regla de familia.
Empieza con lo que esta frente a ti. Eso hará un efecto dominó.
Recuerda que los niños nos están viendo. Hay que poner un buen ejemplo.
