Dia de los Muertos
Drawing of the planned sculpture
La Calaka Flaka Y Fea
The ocean is part of us, integral to life and community. This sculpture celebrates her by bringing attention to every unnecessary item left behind, causing harm to her and ourselves. Sculpted from discarded beach plastic, La Calaka Flaka can be viewed on Playa Libre in La Cruz de Huanacscastle. This fun project is to inspire keeping our community and beaches clean of our discarded items. The community and the children of Amigos de La Cruz played important roles in making this project happen, thank you to those that helped.
Celebrate life by caring for our ocean and placing trash where it belongs.
